At Cool Cups, our mission is to continue the cultural legacy of the visionary Black entrepreneurs who built the water ice market from the ground up in West Philadelphia, introducing a product rooted in resilience, creativity, and community pride.

We operate as a mobile-first brand, meeting people where they are, because access should never be a barrier to joy or opportunity. More than a dessert, Cool Cups DTX is a premium, community-driven experience that creates memories, inspires entrepreneurship, and builds the next chapter of a powerful cultural legacy.

Post WWII, West Philadelphia's Black community faced systemic challenges, including limited economic opportunities and the effects of redlining. Amid these obstacles, enterprising individuals began crafting and selling water ice—a smoother, more flavorful cousin of Italian ice—from home kitchens, pushcarts, and small storefronts. This grassroots initiative not only provided affordable treats but also fostered community pride and economic self-sufficiency. All flavors are dairy-free, nut-free, gluten-free, vegan friendly.
